THE Talisay City Government is not worried about the order of the National Government allowing the voluntary use of face mask in public and open spaces.

Vice Mayor Richard Francis "Choy" Aznar said that at least 96 percent of the city's population is already vaccinated against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

The city has adhered to President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s Executive Order 3 allowing the voluntary use of face mask in outdoor settings.

"So karon, bisan paman dili na mandatory ang pag sul-ob og face mask, ato lang gihapon awhagon ang mga tawo just to be vigilant no, kon ok ra nila mogamit og face mask, walay problema tungod kay wala mani pugsanay, but sa pagkakaron, ang mga indoors naa paman gihapon," said Talisay City Vice Mayor Richard Francis "Choy" Aznar.

(So now, even though the wearing of face mask is not mandatory, we still encourage the public to be vigilant, to wear face mask if it's okay for them since this is not compulsory, but currently, mask is still required indoors.)

Aznar said the new face mask rule is not a problem for them since only four percent of the Talisaynons remain unvaccinated.

But he urged those who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19 yet to submit themselves to vaccination.

Aznar said Mayor Gerald Anthony "Samsam" Gullas has not yet issued a new directive related to Marcos’ order.

He said the Talisay City Council will also consult City Health Officer Dr. Lino Alanzado if there is a need to pass an ordinance related to wearing of face mask in open spaces. (BBT, TPT)
