Tricycle driver arrested for stealing proceeds of roasted chicken outlet in Talisay

A BURGLARY suspect was nabbed by the police after stealing the proceeds of a roasted chicken store outlet in Talisay City, southern Cebu.

The robbery occurred at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, June 2, based on the footage from the store's CCTV camera.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Randy Caballes, chief of the Talisay City Police Station, identified the suspect as Junie Henon Bacalso, 41, a tricycle driver from Purok Manga, Barangay Mohon, of the said city.

Caballes said the suspect broke into the Chooks To Go store and stole the uncooked chicken worth P135 as well as chicken necks worth P105.

The thief also stole money worth about P40,000.

Store attendant Lelith Dagasdas, who discovered the robbery, reported the incident to Talisay City Police Station.

The police immediately conducted a hot-pursuit operation and arrested Bacalso at 5:30 p.m. of the same day.

Only P4,700 of the stolen P40,000 was recovered by the authorities, along with the suspect's gray sweatshirt, jersey shirt, and tube mask. (BBT, TPT)
