Two hurt in dawn fire at PC Hills

A POLICEWOMAN and a 17-year-old girl were wounded in a dawn fire that struck a residential apartment of the police at PC Hills in Barangay Apas, Cebu City yesterday.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) 7 received the alarm at 4:54 a.m., which was raised to a second alarm at 5 a.m.

The fire was placed under control at 5:26 a.m.

Fire out was declared at 6:43 a.m. The BFP 7 traced the origin of the blaze to the unit of SPO2 Charlyn Piedad, 48.

The fire razed seven units and damaged three others.

The BFP 7 identified the wounded as 17-year-old Nicole Piedad.

She suffered a second-degree burn in her left hand, while SPO2 Charlyn dislocated her ankle.

It was not determined how the two are related.

Damage was pegged at P300,000.

Fire investigators have yet to determine what caused the fire. JOB
