Upland barangay in Talisay City eyes truck ban

Sunnexdesk

THE upland barangay of Maghaway has asked the Talisay City Government to impose a truck ban in their area from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. to ensure the safety of students who walk on the side of the road.

Vice Mayor Richard Francis "Choy" Aznar said in an interview with reporters that a copy of the resolution of the barangay council pertaining to their request has arrived in his office.

Aznar stated that although they were aware of the barangay's request, they first scheduled a meeting and invited the traffic and solid waste committee since the barangay was referring to the dump trucks that would transport trash from the city proper to the dumpsite in Barangay Tapul via barangays Maghaway and Linao or Camella Homes in Barangay Lawaan 1.

The barangay Maghaway’s request came following a truck accident in the area recently due to steep road. (BBT, TPT)
