POLICE Col. Gemma Vinluan is the incoming Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) chief.

Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 Director Debold Sinas said Friday, June 28, 2019, there will also be administration changes in the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LCPO) and Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO).

“That’s confirmed,” he said. All that is needed is for mayor-elect Edgardo Labella to give a recommendation letter to PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde. Once approved by Albayalde, Vinluan can assume as the new CCPO chief by next week.

Outgoing CCPO Chief Col. Royina Garma will retire and join the Cabinet as Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office general manager.

Sinas said Vinluan and Garma were together in Class 1997 of the police academy. Vinluan served as chief of the Women and Children Protection Center in Luzon.

Meanwhile, Sinas said both incoming mayors Junard “Ahong” Chan of Lapu-Lapu and Jonas Cortes of Mandaue asked for new city police chiefs.

Sinas said Chan asked for Col. Clarito Baja, Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division chief, while Cortes wanted Col. Jonathan Abella, Regional Personnel and Records Management Division chief.

Col. Limuel Obon is LCPO chief, and Col. Julian Entoma heads MCPO. Sinas said the four will just swap positions. (WBS)
