Tell it to SunStar: Baptism of infants

Sunnexdesk

I FIND it funny how Bro. Gerard Biagan insisted on his human doctrine of original sin or inherited sin, which is not in the Bible. It shows that he followed the teaching of his religion, which is false. A man’s sin is his alone. It is not transferable.

I would agree with him if he can cite even one incident narrated in the Bible wherein an infant was baptized.

The best that I can share with brother Biagan is the example of Jesus. He was not baptized when he was an infant. He was baptized by John the Baptist when he was already an adult. He willingly and knowingly participated in his baptism.

In fact, John initially refused to do it. But Jesus insisted, “I must do what is right.” Then after baptism, God the father said, “This is my own dear son in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him!”

So we have to listen to Jesus and follow his example. The right thing is baptism of adults, not of infants.

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. The truth shall set us free.

I humbly suggest to brother Biagan to study the truths in the Bible that really matter. He should not just willingly or wittingly swallow the false doctrines of his religion.--Chito E. Germino
