Tell it to SunStar: Truth and freedom

Sunnexdesk

THE truth shall set you free.

This is one of the most neglected sayings of Jesus. In over 2,000 years after his death and resurrection, not one preacher had ever pondered upon it.

This is an eternal teaching of Jesus never understood completely by any religious person. Why? Because we are mostly hypocrites and hate the truth.

To fathom the depth of his teaching, we should consider two words. Truth and freedom. If we are not with the truth, we have no freedom. Truth will lead us to freedom. So we should know what are these truths. It should begin with the most important truths in our lives.

First, the true God, then true religion and we must be true to ourselves and others. We should worship the true God sincerely. We should live with all truths, practice true religion and avoid hypocrisy.

Jesus said, “The truth shall set you free.” What freedom is achieved by the truth?

If the world is with the truth, it will be free from sins crimes, wars, epidemic, pestilence, accidents, disasters, famines, and all forms of evil and sufferings. The truth shall free us from all evils and sufferings.

Why are we not free from these evils? Because we are not living in accordance with the true teachings of Jesus. It’s high time that we should change our ways to live in accordance with the truth to cure the world of evils. (By Chito Germino)
