THE 1997 Ronins edged the 1998 Sipat, 60-58, in Division 1 of the University of San Carlos (USC) North Alumni Basketball Club 2019 Cebu City Mayor’s Cup at the USC North Campus gym on Friday night, Oct. 4, 2019.

Jake Saturinas stepped up in a huge way for the Ronins as he put forth a stellar performance of 22 points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals to put down a spirited challenge by the feisty Sipat.

Meanwhile, in Division 2, it was smooth sailing for the 2001 Shipmen as they cruised to a 64-49 victory over the 2005 Chameleons.

Ian Jude Colina steered the Shipmen to the win with his contribution of 15 points, four boards, two dimes, a steal and a blocked shot.

Action continues in the NABC on Sunday, Oct. 6, with a six-game set that starts at 10:30 a.m. with a Division 2 game between the 2000 Millennium Bugs and the 2003 Stallions. The day concludes with a marquee match-up in Division 3 between the 2013 District and the 2015 Samurais.
