2008 Flyboys hands 2015 Samurai its 1st loss

The 2008 Flyboys handed the 2015 Samurai their first loss, 67-64, in Division 3 action in the University of San Carlos North Alumni Basketball Club 2019 Cebu City Mayor’s Cup at the USC North Campus gym on Saturday, September 14, 2019.

Former USC Warrior standout Nico Magat presided over the huge win with his 18 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals.

The Flyboys and the Samurai now have identical 2-1 win-loss records.

Meanwhile in the Seniors division, the 1982 Golden Warriors picked up its first win of the season with a 69-65 victory over the 1991 Tigers. Jonathan Diaz turned back the hands of time in this game and produced all-around numbers of 22 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals to help 1982 improve to 1-2 and send 1991 to its second straight loss.

In Division 1, the 1997 Ronins remained undefeated with a 92-77 win over the 1992 Little Rascals. The win was the team’s fourth in a row. Al Bughao led the way for Batch 1997 with his 28 points and seven rebounds.

Over in Division 2, the 2001 Shipmen won over the 2001 Millennium Bugs, 68-65, thanks to Conrad Plando’s 21 points. The Shipmen and the Bugs now have similar 2-1 cards. (SunStar Cebu)
