IT was a night for the Philippines after three Pinoy warriors were victorious on Friday, June 24, 2022 in Dubai.

Joepher Montano, KJ Natuplag and Rey Villar won their respective fights at the Fight Club Championship (FCC) at the FCC Forum.

Montano demolished Indonesian prospect Ali Agustian in one round to claim the Asian Boxing Federation (ABF) super lightweight belt.

Montano dropped Agustian with a left hook to the body. Agustian beat the referee’s count but Montano swarmed him with punches. Montano landed another left hook that hurt Agustian, which forced the referee to intervene and stop the fight at the 1:24 mark.

Montano improved to 12-5-2 with 11 knockouts, while Agustian dropped to 8-2 with eight knockouts.

New WBC featherweight champ

Meanwhile, Natuplag bagged the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Boxing Council (ABC) featherweight strap with a second round knockout of Thai former regional champion Attanon Kunlawong.

Natuplag knocked out Kunlawong with a counter left hook. Kunlawong tried to stand up but was too wobbly, which forced the referee to stop the bout at the 1:35 mark.

Natuplag is now 10-3-2 with nine knockouts, while Kunlawong fell to 17-7-1 with 13 knockouts.

On the other hand, Villar (8-6-1, 3 KOs) stopped Ugandan upstart Daniel Ssebunya (0-1) in the second round.
