FILIPINO pug Ronnie Baldonado treads on enemy soil and will take on Mexican warrior Adolfo Castillo for the Global Boxing Union bantamweight strap on Oct. 30, 2021 at the Coliseo Centenario in Torreon, Coahulia, Mexico.

Baldonado ends a two-year layoff and looks to bounce back strong with a win on the road. He last saw action on Sept. 7, 2019 in a majority decision defeat in a rematch with Enrique Magsalin.

Baldonado is no stranger to fighting abroad. He won the interim World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental flyweight belt with a first round technical knockout of Yiming Ma in China in 2017.

He returned to China later that year and successfully defended his belt with a sixth round stoppage of Indonesian Iwan Zoda. He then fought two-division world champion Kosei Tanaka in Japan in 2018 and lost via a ninth round technical knockout.

After losing two of his three fights in 2019, Castillo returned to the winning column with a second round stoppage of Eduardo Heron Marquez Nuñez on March 19.

Castillo is as tough as they come and has never been knocked out ever in his career.

Baldonado is 15-2-1 with nine knockouts, while Castillo is 11-3-2 with six knockouts.
