PINOY prospect Jeny Boy Boca’s two-fight winning streak was halted after an eighth round knockout loss to hometown hero Muhammad Waseem on Dec. 19 in Lahore, Pakistan.

Boca came in as a huge underdog against Waseem, a former world title challenger.

The 26-year-old Camiguin native, however, was confident coming into this fight after winning back-to-back fights. His latest win was a fourth round technical knockout upset over former world title challenger Sarawut Thawornkham, in which he won the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) Asia flyweight strap.

The 33-year-old Waseem was also riding a two-fight winning run after beating Filipino Conrado Tanamor and former world champion Ganigan Lopez.

According to reports, Waseem had controlled the whole fight before ending Boca’s night in the eighth round.

Waseem, currently rated No. 4 by the International Boxing Federation (IBF), improved to 11-1 with eight knockouts.

Boca, on the other hand, dropped to 14-7 with 12 knockouts.
