YAW-YAN Ardigma Cebu founder Master Benigno “Ekin” Cañiga cried foul after Renan “Flash” Noblefranca suffered a decision loss in what he believes was a robbery.

“It was the wrong decision. We rocked him in every round but he still got the decision. The result should have been a draw at the least,” Cañiga told SunStar Cebu.

Noblefranca dropped a unanimous decision defeat to Ely Fernandez in the Muay Thai main event of “Fight Paradise Kibawe” on last Dec. 7, 2019 at the Kibawe Municipal Gym in Bukidnon.

Noblefranca had just returned from a long layoff and last fought competitively back in 2013 in the US.

Meanwhile, Joseph Mercado, who also trains at Yaw-Yan Ardigma Cebu, forced Jay Tancontian to tap out in the opening round from a vicious ground-and-pound in an MMA fight.

Cebuanos Tonix Borres and while Lugo were also victorious in the MMA undercard.

Borres scored a technical knockout of Jeto Masangkay, Lugo beat Rosauro Sagun by unanimous decision.

Noblefranca will immediately spring back to action on Dec. 30 against fellow Cebuano Borres in another Muay Thai fight.

This fight should dictate the 27-year-old striker’a future.

“We’ll have a talk if he wins against Borres. I have huge plans for him. Hopefully, he’ll stay disciplined,” said Cañiga. (EKA)
