Canoy to gun for KO vs. ex-champ

Sunnexdesk

JASON Canoy is looking for that perfectly-timed one punch knockout on highly-touted Luis Nery and score what should be one of the biggest upsets this year.

“When he comes in, he tends to lower his guard,” Canoy told SunStar Cebu of the flaw in Nery’s game.

When Nery comes in and makes that mistake, Canoy will be ready to land that bone-crushing counter punch in their World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver bantamweight fight in Tijuana, Mexico.

Nery, a former world champion, has been down in his career, so a knockout is plausible. He was dropped once by both Filipino pugs Arthur Villanueva and Raymond Tabugon. Canoy is 27-8-2 with 19 knockouts, while Nery is 26-0 with 20 knockouts. EKA
