Carcar takes on Mandaue

THE Carcar City volleybelles will try to defend on their home turf as they face Mandaue City in Game 1 of the best-of-three championship of the 1st Governor’s Cup Volleyball Tournament at 6 p.m. today.

Organizers are inviting volleyball fans down south to Carcar City gym to watch the game. Admission is free.

Carcar City got the right to host Game 1 after a draw by the coaches. Mandaue City will host Game 2 in the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex on May 30.

If there will be a Game 3, it will be held on neutral ground in the University of San Carlos (USC) Gym on Sanciangko St. in Cebu City on June 1.

Catmon and Argao, meanwhile, will play for third place on Wednesday also in the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex.

The tournament’s champion will win the P300,000 cash prize, while the losing finalist pockets P200,000, and the third placer gets P100,000. The fourth placer will earn P50,000. (RSC)
