Casimero starts training for Tete fight

THREE-division world champion Johnriel Casimero kicked off his training camp on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, in Las Vegas for his upcoming world title fight against Zolani Tete.

Casimero arrived in the US along with trainer Nonoy Neri last Oct. 2.

Casimero started his training and hooked up with conditioning coach Angel Heredia.

He has conditioning training along with fellow Pinoy fighter Jhack Tepora.

Casimero and Tete are scheduled to fight on Nov. 23 in London, England.

Casimero earned a shot at the interim WBO bantamweight strap after Tete was sidelined with an injury.

He won the interim belt with a 10th-round knockout of Ricardo Franco last April 20, 2019.

Tete, who was supposed to fight Nonito Donaire Jr. in the World Boxing Super Series semifinals before getting injured, last saw action on Oct. 13, 2018.

He beat Mikhail Aloyan via unanimous decision. Casimero is 28-4 with 19 knockouts, while Tete is 28-3 with 21 knockouts. (EKA)
