THE Cebu Casino Ethyl Alcohol overwhelmed the Rizal Xentro Mall Golden Coolers, 89-59, to keep their bid for the playoffs alive in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Lakan Season at the Ynares Center on Monday night, November 4, 2019.

The win moved Cebu’s win-loss record to 8-10, good for ninth place in the South Division, right behind the Bicol Volcanoes, which totes a 10-11 slate.

University of the Visayas product Rhaffy Octobre was a one-man wrecking crew for Cebu as he tallied 24 points to go with 13 rebounds and two assists. However, Cebu got plenty of contributions from the rest of the team with three others — Nichole Ubalde, John Reel Saycon and Fletcher Galvez — scoring nine points each.

Cebu did not hesitate to bury Rizal early on as they established an 18-point lead, 30-12, right after the first canto. They eventually raised it up to a whopping 25 points, 66-41, at the end of the third canto before cruising to the 30-point victory.

Mark Benitez paced Rizal with 13 points, while Joemari Lacastesantos added 12 markers. (JNP)
