Datu Lapu-Lapu-Sapal 2 in 1 goes to 2-0 in CABC Buildrite Cup 2023

Datu Lapu-Lapu-Sapal 2 in 1 took down the Sugbo-Max Bond, 82-77, to gain the early leadership in the standings of the Cebu Architects Basketball Club Buildrite Cup 2023 last Sunday at the Benedicto College Gym along A.S. Fortuna Street.

Sapal 2 in 1 took firm control of the lead in the fourth as they rattled off 12 straight points to take a 76-61 lead. However, Max Bond rallied and trimmed the deficit down to just three in the game’s waning seconds before Sapal 2 in 1 canned their free-throws to secure the victory.

Bong Gabison had a complete ballgame to lead Sapal 2 in 1 to their second win in as many games. He had 18 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, three steals, and two steals.

Justin Aspacio also had 18 points, while Darren Morandante put up 16 points, eight boards, and seven assists.

In other games, Cebu-Sinclair Paints routed the Metro Cebu-Flexicrete, 67-49, to get their first win of the tournament. Zach Go led the way for Sinclair Paints as he had 23 points, seven boards, and two assists. Mark Paradero also put up 12 points, five boards, and two assists.

In the last game, Rajah Humabon-Rubber Stop defeated Leon Kilat-Smartbond, 65-57. Nagel Socrates had a monster double-double of 17 points and 16 rebounds to carry Rubber Stop to the victory.
