UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES (UP) star Paul Desiderio was suprisingly picked fourth in the 2019 PBA Draft last Sunday, Dec. 16, at the Robinsons Place Manila. Desiderio, a native of Liloan, was picked by the NLEX Road Warriors at fourth behind No. 1 pick CJ Perez (Columbian Dyip), No. 2 pick Bobby Ray Parks Jr. (Blackwater Elite) and third pick Robert Bolick (NorthPort Batang Pier). However, Desiderio will reportedly be included in a trade deal along with NLEX’s other rookie Abu Tratter, who was picked seventh. The two rookies are in a proposed trade with Blackwater for JP Erram. Meanwhile, three other former Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) products were drafted in this year’s PBA draft. Former Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu player Kris Porter was drafted 16th overall by NLEX, ex-University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Green Lancer Ron Dennison was picked 21st overall by the Phoenix Fuel Masters and another former UV player Edrian Lao, who currently plays for the Cebu City Sharks, was drafted 25th by the NorthPort Batang Pier.
