ESNETH Domingo will be seeing action back on international soil as he trades leathers with Japanese prospect Jukiya Iimura in an eight-rounder on Oct. 20 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

“I’ll just work hard and do my best in the fight. This is a huge fight for me because my opponent is really good. That’s why I’m training really hard right now with coach Mike (Domingo),” Domingo told SunStar Cebu.

The 23-year-old Domingo is eager to return to his winning ways after losing his last fight. He lost to Nhlanhla Tyirha by unanimous decision in South Africa on May 28.

Domingo has been training in different gyms in Cebu — Villamor Boxing Gym, ARQ Boxing Gym and the Omega Boxing Gym.

Domingo has been sparring with world-ranked KJ Cataraja in preparation for his upcoming fight.

“I have been sparring at ARQ. I have also sparred with KJ. He’ll be of huge help to me,” said Domingo.

The 24-year-old Iimura is a promising prospect from Tokyo. He just made his pro debut last year with a first round technical knockout of Daisuke Yamada. He followed it up with a unanimous decision over Tomoki Kawasaki. In his third fight, Iimura faced experienced Takayuki Okumoto in his first eight-rounder and walked away with a majority decision victory.

Domingo is 16-2 with eight knockouts, while Iimura is 3-0 with a knockout.
