THE Prime Movers Logistics-Eagles took down the Gothong Shipping Lines-Rhinos, 101-95, to take the solo lead in the standings of the Elite Basketball Cebu Season 18 last Sunday, May 15, at the Casals Gym.

The Eagles found themselves trailing early as the Rhinos -- which featured pros Patrick Cabahug and Mac Racho -- found their rhythm from beyond the arc. However, the tide turned in the second half as the Eagles dominated the shaded lane with Joshua dela Cerna producing 25 points, 13 rebounds, and four assists.

The Eagles now hold a 6-1 card, while the Rhinos dropped to 4-2.

Meanwhile, the Cebu Sherilin Trading-Bears nabbed a share of second place with an 84-75 win over the Bulldogs. Former University of San Carlos star Sam Hermosa had a double-double performance of 25 points and 16 rebounds to go with three assists and two steals as the Bears moved up to 5-1.

The Aneda Builders-Falcons also extended their winning run to four games with a 93-84 victory over the Barracudas. Prolific forward Allan Ger Sala had another excellent ballgame, tallying a near-triple-double of 34 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists. The Falcons now have a 4-2 card.

Lastly, the Wolves dropped the Cheetahs, 104-79, as young gun James Truz exploded for a monster double-double of 28 points and 20 rebounds. The speedy wingman also had an astounding seven blocks to propel the Wolves to their second victory in the tournament. (JNP)
