Gilas Pilipinas thrashes Indonesia in Fiba Asia Cup 2021 qualifiers

THE Gilas Pilipinas got its stint in the Fiba Asia Cup 2021 qualifiers off to a fantastic start as they thwarted Indonesia, 100-70, at the Britama Arena in Jakarta on Sunday night, February 23, 2020.

Amateur standout Thirdy Ravena sparked a huge 12-0 third period run that turned what was a close four-point game into a lopsided win for the Filipinos. The Gilas was ahead, 55-51, but when the dust settled at the end of the third, they already held a 67-53 lead.

The Philippine side then poured it on in the final canto, outscoring Indonesia, 33-17, to author the victory.

Ravena finished with 23 points and eight rebounds while Cebuano Roger Pogoy had 16 markers and six boards. CJ Perez put up 11 points and seven rebounds for Gilas even as Kiefer Ravena and Juan Gomez De Liano fired in 10 points apiece.

Andakara Prastawa Dhyaksa had a game-high 28 points for Indonesia.
