Global Cebu eyes first win

Sunnexdesk

AFTER its match was pushed back due to Typhoon Ompong, Global Cebu FC is optimistic of taking its first win in the Copa Paulino Alcantara today against JPV Marikina at the Carmona Football Field in Cavite.

“Carmona is very exposed to the weather but we shall play tomorrow (today) instead,” said Global Cebu FC owner Mark Jarvis. “We think we have a good chance but a couple of key players are out.”

Adam Mitter is sitting it out with a hamstring injury, while veteran Anton del Rosario isn’t with the team because of a death in the family.

Defenders Milan Nikolic and Lee Jeong-min, however, will pick up the slack in the defensive end.

Global Cebu FC suffered a painful 4-0 loss in the hands of Kaya FC-Iloilo in its opening match of the Copa Paulino Alcantara last Sept. 1 at the Rizal Football Stadium and sits at the bottom of Group B. Kaya FC-Iloilo is at the top with three points. (EKA)
