HNU decimates DCPNHS in Bohol basketball tourney

THE high school cagers of the Holy Name University (HNU) decimated Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School (DCPNHS) by a whopping 70 points, 112-42, in the Bohol Schools Athletic Association (BSAA) Season 9 at the HNU Gym in Tagbilaran City on Wednesday night, October 9, 2019.

Jhan Rhinner Ampoloquio led the charge of HNU with his all-around performance of 22 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Four other players scored in double-figures for HNU with Therryll Hora punching in 21 markers, Godwin Zamora and Ulysses Agocoy adding 15 points apiece and Jon Jay Bustrillos putting up 13 in the wholly one-sided affair.

HNU got the party started early, racing off to a huge 34-10 lead after the first, which steadily ballooned until it reached a whopping 70 points at the game’s final buzzer.

The other high school match saw the BIT International College hand the Bohol Wisdom School an 86-80 defeat. Arch Jaynel Castanares spearheaded BIT’s attack with 21 points, three rebounds and three assists. He also reset the record books by logging in a remarkable 3 steals. (SunStar Cebu)
