FORMER world champion-turned-boxing promoter Gerry Peñalosa will start his own boxing reality show in search for the next boxing superstar in the Philippines.

With Manny Pacquiao, Nonito Donaire Jr. and Donnie Nietes in the twilight of their illustrious boxing careers, Peñalosa wants to discover some new talent who could possibly be the Philippines’ next stars.

The two-division world champion is partnering with ESPN5 and the series will most likely kick off in April.

“The boxers should have no more than 10 fights, have foughts at least six rounds and are all professional,” said Peñalosa of the requirements of the aspiring boxers.

The tournament has three divisions--flyweight, bantamweight and featherweight. Each division will be composed of eight boxers and will fight six-rounders. The winner moves on to the next round, while the loser goes home. (EKA)
