PENTHEL and GAC Motors gathered momentum for the semifinal round as they took out their opponents at the close of the elimination round in the Duterte Basketball League Cebu at the Capitol Parish gym on Sunday night, October 6, 2019.

GAC Motors clipped the defending champions, Lycans, 66-64, as former pro Danny Aying showed he has plenty of gas left in the tank, scoring 20 points. Former Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. All Star Allan Dimco added 11 points, seven rebounds and two assists.

Sam Hermosa and John Velasco had 16 and 12 points, respectively, for the Lycans.

Meanwhile, Penthel edged NJEB Construction, 75-72, thanks to the efforts of former Cesafi Mythical Five forward Jerome Silva who had 13 points, five boards and two dimes, and Michael Baring, who added 10 markers.

The knockout semifinals on October 13 will see GAC Motors taking on Paragsa while Penthel battles NJEB, with the winners advancing to the best-of-three finals series. (SunStar Cebu)
