Amit bucks slow start in her first match in 30th SEA Games

CEBUANA cue artist Rubilen Amit overcame a slow start to beat Thailand’s Nuanthakhamjan Sirapaporn, 7-5, in her first match in the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games women’s 10-ball singles in billiards on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019, at the Manila Hotel Tent.

The Mandaue City, Cebu-native had a slow start and found herself down 0-4, before taking twoconsecutive racks to cut down the deficit, 2-4.

Sirapaporn scored another rack to extend her lead to 5-3. But the former 10-ball world champion asserted her mastery in the final four racks to walk away with a 7-5 win and move to the quarterfinals round.

Amit will face Bui Xuan Vang of Vietnam, who beat Wong Poi Sei of Malaysia, 7-0. (SunStar Cebu)
