THE Accenture Sharks are just a win away from booking a finals rematch in the Elite Classic division of the Tanduay Athletics E-Leagues for Basketball after they ripped the Concentrix Converters apart, 71-57, in Game 1 of the best-of-three semifinals series at the City Sports Club-Cebu on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020.

The Sharks did not give the Converters any room to breathe from the opening tip as they immediately zoomed in front by 18 points, 41-23, at halftime. And although Concentrix played better in the second half, the hole proved too deep for them to climb out of.

Clarence Torre led Accenture in scoring with 12 points but it was former University of Southern Philippines Foundation point guard Junas Misa who did the most damage on both ends of the floor, piling up 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Aldene Batino also played a key role in the victory as he chipped in nine points, seven boards, two assists and four steals.

Former Jose Rizal University guard Jay-R Bulangis led Concentrix with 12 points, two rebounds, four assists and three steals while Juan Sebial had a double-double OF 10 points and 14 rebounds.

The Sharks will try to complete a sweep in Game Two on January 25, 2020. The winner of this semis encounter will be taking on the reigning champions Sykes Pioneers, a team that has been preparing for the finals since late last year. (JNP)
