Jonas N. Panerio

The Sherilin Plastics and the Silogan ni Gian will duke it out in the finals of the Nevinomenon Basketball League after they hurdled their respective opponents in overtime last Sunday at the Cebu Port Authority gym.

Sherilin overcame the Hell Energy Drink in overtime, 66-62, in a hotly-contested ballgame. Hell Energy Drink had a shot at winning the game in regulation but former Cebu Institute of Technology-University ace Anthony Lucena missed two free-throws right before the final buzzer sounded.

Sherilin then pulled out all the stops in the extra session to come away victorious. High-flying guard Albert Ardiente led Sherilin with 17 points, five rebounds, and three assists.

In the other semis match, Silogan ni Gian dropped V-Drink Malunggay Juice in overtime as well, 88-81. Speedy guard Rey Gonzaga paced the winning side with 26 points, five boards, and four assists.

The championship game will be on July 17 at 4:30 p.m.
