ASPIRING strength and conditioning coaches in the Visayas and Mindanao can rejoice with the International Training Workshop at the Aznar Coliseum of SWU Phinma on May 18-19, 2019.

“This is the first international workshop by a world-renowned Strength and Conditioning Coach in Carlo Buzzichelli, who’s an author in Sports Science, consultant to numerous Olympic Programs and coach to Olympian medalists across the globe,” said organizer JP Manansala. “Typically, coaches need to fly to Manila and pay for accommodation, but now it’s a great boost for our program to actually learn from one of the best in the world who’s coming to Cebu and at SWU, nonetheless.”

This initiative is pursued jointly by SWU Phinma’s Athletic Department and the ISCI.

Carlo Buzzichelli heads the International Strength and Conditioning Institute, an international association that promotes a sensible, evidence based sports training methodology as well as bridges the gap between science and practice.

ISCI strength & conditioning certification courses equip personal trainers and Strength and conditioning coaches to effectively work with athletes of all sports.

In the two-day workshop, participants will expect to learn the fundamentals of strength and conditioning, periodization, energy systems development, speed, agility, quickness and power development, prescription of strength exercises for athleticism, strategies for recovery and how to plan an annual program. Carlo will also be fielding questions from the participants.

SWU-Phinma athletic director Pio Solon said that this is the first time that an international strength and conditioning workshop is held in Cebu.

“The expected participants are aspiring strength and conditioning coaches, physical therapists, rehabilitation doctors, among others, “

The workshop is recognized worldwide, Solon added.

The registration fee for this two-day workshop is P22,000, inclusive of certifications. (PR)
