UV Baby Lancers clobbers Berkeley of Baguio in Passerelle twin tourney

THE University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers got off their title campaign in the Small Basketeers of the Philippines (SBP) division to a fantastic start as they clobbered Berkeley of Baguio, 79-74, at the start of the 34th SBP Passarelle Twin Tournament Backed by Milo National Finals at the Dinggoy Roxas Civic Center in Roxas City on Saturday, November 23, 2019.

UV tucked the win in as early as the first half as they held their opponents scoreless in the second canto to surge in front, 42-6. UV’s defense remained as ferocious as ever in the third as they proceeded to pummel Berkeley to establish a 63-8 lead heading to the last 10 minutes of action.

Jan Mark Toring led UV’s offense with 17 points while John Louie Bual and Denver Bisnar had 10 points apiece.

UV was preparing to take on Mindanao representative Corpus Christi in a game that was still being played in as of press time.
