AS the Park Inn by Radisson celebrates its 10th year anniversary, SM City and Radisson Hotel Group plan to expand in Mindanao a few years from now to cater to the growing demand of the hotel and tourism industry on the island.

“We are going to be very busy in the next five years. So, definitely yes to expansion in the Park Inn brand and maybe some Radisson brands,” SM Hotels and Conventions Corp Executive Vice President Peggy Angeles, said during the coffee talk at Park Inn Hotel on March 22, 2023.

She said that as of now, there are about five to six branches in the country and they would add more in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Meanwhile, Park Inn by Radisson Davao General Manager Sven Toune said Park Inn Radisson - Davao still looks new despite being around for 10 years.

“In all fairness, from the back of the house and back of it, it still looks actually good,” he said.

He added that in order to maintain such hotel asset conditions, proper hotel maintenance is a must.

“Every day, we have three to four rooms that we have blocked out to check its piping, and that’s how we maintain the assets,” he said.

Angeles added that they are gradually renovating some parts of the Park Inn hotel in Davao due to its high demand.

“We have to do it floor by floor,” she said.

With its high demand, Angeles said that they have already put a lot of investment in the said hotel and they don’t wait for seven or ten years to renovate.

She said they have done some asset changes in carpets, floorings, and more. She added that Park Inn Bacolod will be the benchmark of the hotel upgrade and renovation. KSD
