Davao hip-hop group Fusion competes internationally

Jennie P. Arado

FUSION, a Davao-based, hip hop dance group competed yesterday at the 2018 World Hip Hop Dance Championship - Preliminaries Round at Phoenix, Arizona.

It was first founded on May 27, 2007 and has since grew to recruit other talented dancers from different schools and universities, having started with student-dancers from Ateneo de Davao University.

As they have continued to improve their choreography, they have also won different competitions such as the Hiphop International 2015 Mindanao Regional Champions (Megacrew Division), Hiphop International 2015 National Championship Top 10 (Megacrew Division), and the Hiphop International 2016 Mindanao Regional Champions (Megacrew Division).

Before the day of the World Hip Hop Dance Championship, the dancers, their families, and friends were all busy soliciting support for the said competition. Their efforts were not put to waste as support, both financially and morally came pouring in.

The dance crew, does not only support Davao City, but as well as the Philippines as they are competing against dance crews of different nationalities.

Fusion, composed of young hip-hop dancers, only shows us one of the many reasons to be proud to be Dabawenyos.
