Holcim supports Davao beautification drive

BUILDING solutions provider Holcim Philippines Inc. will donate 2,000 tons of cement to the Davao City government to support the city’s beautification programs this year.

The cement will be used to build plant boxes installed in center islands, parks and play grounds in prime areas of the city such as the Davao Agusan Road to the Old Airport, R. Castillo, Agdao and Leon Garcia Streets, Quirino Avenue, Quezon Boulevard and McArthur Highway. The project is being undertaken by the City Environment and Natural Resources Office for its cleanliness and landscaping initiatives.

Holcim representatives led by Davao Plant Manager Xavier Kennedy and Mayor Inday Sara Duterte held a signing ceremony last December 2017, where the former expressed the company’s continued commitment to supporting the city’s development.

“I hope that through this partnership, we can contribute further to the improvement of Davao. From all of us at Holcim Philippines, I assure the local government that we will continue to support the city in building better with certainty,” said Kennedy.

Mayor Duterte thanked Holcim for contributing to the city’s development and promised support for the company’s future endeavors. (PR)
