THE distance between Adelaide, Australia and Davao City, Philippines may be far but, Rotary International’s "Service above Self” knows no boundaries.

This is how Alvin Orteza, president of Rotary Club of East Davao feels after receiving several medical donations from the Royal Adelaide Hospital of Australia last March 17.

The other recipient of the donations was the Rotary Club of Waling waling headed by President Elaysa Lapena. Both local clubs belong to the Rotary International District 3860.

The donation was facilitated by the Australian Rotary Clubs of Adelaide and Prospect of District 9500.

“I am amazed to see what four Rotary Clubs from two nations could achieve by working together," Orteza said.

Arranging for the medical donations under the Rotary Global Grant 1640035 was District 3860 District Governor Nominee Riziel Reyes.

The donation in kind composed of medical supplies and various medical equipments will benefit their chosen beneficiaries in Barangay Caliclic, Island Garden City of Samal and Barangay Tibungco and Marilog communities in Davao City.

“The Aussie Rotarians’ kindness will go a long way in helping Dabawenos and Samaleños who are needing medical attention,” Reyes said.
