HOW fun is it to play again Larong Pinoy?

Nostalgic as it is, playing Filipino games brings so many memories from our childhood and it signifies how rich our culture is. Filipino games are undeniably part of the foundation of us Filipinos.

Taking a look back and recognizing this foundation, the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association Incorporated (SHDA)- Southern Mindanao chapter recently staged its annual sportsfest dubbed as SHDALympics in Villa Señorita, Davao City with a Larong Pinoy theme.

"This is our way of strengthening our ties with each other. The Larong Pinoy concept will bring us back to our roots and remind us to provide more quality housing projects to the Filipinos," Architect Kristin L. Lu, Kisan Lu Lands Incorporated president and CEO as well as SHDA Southern Mindanao chairperson, said.

She said the goal of the annual sportsfest is to create a healthy competition atmosphere, a good network of skills, and camaraderie among SHDA members.

The Larong-Pinoy-themed sportsfest featured various Filipino games like Takyan, Sack Race, Maria Went to Town, Singgit Sayaw, Dodge Ball, and Tug of War.

The event, sponsored by Davies Paints, was participated by housing developers in Davao: Kisan Lu, Davao Joyful Homes and Realty Development Corporation, Jenson Land Realty and Development Corporation, Prestige Homes Realty and Development Corporation, Starlight Ventures Incorporated, Uraya Land Development Incorporated, HLC Construction and Development Corporation, Primeland Properties Incorporated, GCW9, and Toshi Tim Land Incorporated.

Davao Joyful Homes won the P40,000 grand prize, Jenson Land took the 2nd place (P25,000), and GCW9 bagged the third place (P15,000).
