Dogs are man’s best friends for a reason

Mark A. Perandos

ASIDE from their characteristics of being loyal and obedient, dogs also have the ability to help humans to be relieved of daily stress.

In present, “dogs for sale” has become the trend as most people want to become pet owners. This cannot be entirely stopped as there is no law prohibiting the selling of dogs or any pet.

There is really nothing wrong about selling or buying a pet as long as each one becomes responsible pet owners. However, the problem now is the increasing number of homeless pets, especially dogs in shelter homes and streets as many prefer buying in pet shops than adopting one.

Last July 8, 2019, I adopted a dog from my friend. It is a breed of Labrador and “Aspin” or “Asong Pinoy”. My fiance and I named him Toby. He is only two months old but we made sure we gave him the proper care and appropriate food and vitamins and other needs.

The good thing about adopting is that you do not need to pay an amount just to have one and of course, an opportunity for homeless animals to have a family that would care for them.
