Food coma at P

Stella A. Estremera

WE FIRST visited the place late last year, sampling its food and panicking over the bottled goodies for sale, we forgot about photos.

So, there we were again, trying one more time, several months later, and P Café can still stir me up into “takaw-mata” mode. It was worse because this time, there was just Rhodamae and me.

We ordered the fruits and nuts salad, baked bone marrow, and the spaghetti with meatballs, and topped this with a chocolate mousse cake and a cup of coffee.

The bone marrow was heaven. I would’ve loved to get another serving, except that I was trying hard to behave. But just the memory is making me drool now.

I was also craving to dig my teeth into more pastries, but we were already stuffed by then, we could barely move.

P Café is at the Phoenix Station in Lanang across the gas stations away from all the bars and food places there.

It’s at the ground floor of the Pirelli building. When you arrive at Phoenix Lanang, don’t scan the row of bars and restos because P Café is not there. Look across the gas station and see the lighted sign that reads “Pirelli”, it’s under that sign.

Aside from the food, feast your eyes on the items they have for sale. From gourmet tuyo to bottled chorizo to just about every sinful food in a bottle. I was behaving though and no longer went into a frenzy like I did during my first visit there.

Suffice it to say, P Café is worth a visit and another and another. Especially when you’re from up north. It’s a cozy, quiet stop where you can satisfy your cravings in peace.
