Lumawag: A dose of a healthy meal

Reuel John F. Lumawag

HEALTH officials have been actively promoting the need for people to eat healthier. Even prior to Covid-19 pandemic, healthy eating has always been promoted.

I have begun to eat healthier. Not because of what is happening around me but the need for me to shift to a healthier diet. Not having a kitchen, I have been on the lookout for food establishments that offer healthy dishes. Among those I discovered include Golden Vegetarian Eatery and Clean Cafe.

But if there is one food establishment that I know serves a pretty good healthy meal, it’s Sea Green Cafe along Jacinto Extension. While it is on the pricey side, I think you get what you paid for.

For my recent meal here, I had the Roasted Pumpkin Soup, Fresh Fruit Bowl with yogurt, and apple, cranberry, quesong puti salad with honey vinaigrette.

I started with the Roasted Pumpkin Soup. I think it was a hearty way to start the meal. I think the soup was tasty. I enjoyed every spoonful of it.

Then I had the apple, cranberry, quesong puti salad with honey vinaigrette. This was one good salad. I love how the sweetness from the apple, cranberry, and honey vinaigrette balanced the bitterness coming from the arugula. I also think the vinaigrette had a nice balance between sweet and sour. This was simply a refreshing and delicious dish.

The Fresh Fruit Bowl with yogurt was also good. I loved the sweetness from the bananas and papaya. However, at P140, I think there should be more variety in the fruits put in the bowl.

It was a wonderful meal at Sea Green Cafe. I am on a constant lookout for food establishments that serve healthy meals. If you know any, drop a message on my Instagram (@kapediaries).
