THE Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) recorded 11 male victims of rape from January to October this year.

Police Senior Inspector Lilibeth Remolar, WCPD chief, said Wednesday that all the victims of sexual abuse were minors.

Most of the perpetrators of the reported rape cases were male adults.

Some of the cases happened recently while were reported late. Asked on the status of suspects, she said that some have been arrested.

“If the crime has just been committed, there is basis for the arrest but if we arrest, there should be warrant. But if late reporting, we can’t just arrest the suspect right away without warrant of arrest,” she said.

The WCPD has also received 110 reports of female rape victims. Overall, the desk recorded 121 cases of sexual assault this year.

The victims range from: 5 years old and below, 7 victims; 6 to 10 years old, 19; 11 to 15, 39; 16-20, 40; 32-35, 8; 26-30, 5; 31-35, 1; 36-40, 1; and 86, 1.

Based on their record on the victim’s status, one was killed; six escaped; one was hospitalized; six injured; one released; 27 rescued; 33 under custody; 43 unharmed; and one wounded.
