2 dead, 27 hurt in Cotabato blast

(UPDATED) - Two persons were killed and 27 were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in Cotabato City Monday afternoon, December 31.

Initial reports said the explosion occurred at 2:15 p.m. Monday in front of South Seas Mall in Cotabato City.

A cellphone reportedly triggered the explosion. The IED was made from nails and gunpowder.
