4 men face gambling raps

CHARGES were filed before the Davao City Prosecutor's Office against four men earlier nabbed for illegal gambling at Emily Homes in Barangay Cabantian, Buhangin District, Davao City, on March 4.

Facing charges for violation of Republic Act 1602 or The Penalties on Illegal Gambling are Alfonso Chino Sepulvida Gagui, Abdul Machutes Macapendig, Alexander Apit Alendote, and Caryl Dyne Geyrozaga.

In a record obtained from the Davao City Police Office, the four suspects were brought before the prosecutor's office on March 5 for inquest proceedings.

The suspects were arrested after they were caught in the act playing an illegal card games, locally known as piat-piat, at Phase 3 Emily Homes in Cabantian at 11:15 p.m. of March 4.

Recovered from them were blue complete deck of playing cards, white wooden table, two green plastic armchair, one mono block chair, two stalls and P205 bet money.

The suspects are currently detained at the Buhangin Police Station.
