Another quake hits Sarangani

ANOTHER earthquake hit Sarangani in Davao Occidental, this time occuring early Friday morning, September 20, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

The 4.9 magnitude earthquake occurred at 3:09 a.m. Friday 256 kilometers east of Sarangani. It was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 131 kilometers.

Phivolcs said damage and aftershocks are not expected.

Earlier, a 5.4-magnitude earthquake hit Sarangani at 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, with Intensity 1 felt in Alabel, Sarangani, and General Santos City. (EZN/SunStar Philippines)
