Asean visitors assured of safety

THE Police Regional Office (PRO) in Davao Region assured on Wednesday, July 18, the security and safety of the Association of Southeast Asian Nation (Asean) members at the 2018 Public Sector Human Resource Symposium ongoing at SMX Convention Center in Lanang in Davao City.

PRO-Davao spokesperson Chief Inspector Milgrace Driz said the security forces of the region had tightened measures to achieve this.

"We highly encourage the cooperation from the community, Dabawenyos in particular, to participate in our community information driven for the safety and security of our visitors and participants," Driz said.

The Davao police had also tightened security for vital installations and places of convergence, including tourist destinations, following the order of PRO-Davao director Chief Supt. Manuel Gaerlan.

Close to 2,500 human resource professionals from the government, private sector, and members of the Asean are in Davao City from July 18, Wednesday to Friday, July 20, for the symposium.

The symposium highlights concepts, perspectives and insights in achieving breakthrough result that impact agency operations and delivery of excellent public service.
