Better voting process for PWDs

Sunnexdesk

CONCERNS on voting process of the persons with disability (PWD) will be addressed after a mock election set on Monday, February 3, at Sta. Ana Elementary School.

The mock election aims to further improve the electoral process by the Commission on Election (Comelec) specifically on the national 2022 poll.

“Magkakaroon talaga sila ng election. We will see kung anong maitutulong natin sa kanila bakit maliliit ang turnout sa mga PWDs during election para magawan natin ng paraan,” Lawyer Krisna Samantha Caballero, Comelec-Davao spokesperson said.

They will invite a maximum of 100 PWDs who will participate in the mock election. Their feedback will be important so Comelec would know which parts of the process they would need to improve on for the PWDs’ convenience.

In previous years, it was observed that there is a low voting turnout. This is something they want to improve on, Caballero said. (JCR)
