THE Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Davao said 17 individuals, including two mayors, were captured during the implementation of “Oplan Pagtugis” in October and November 2018.

Police Chief Inspector Milgrace Driz, head of CIDG-Davao, said they arrested seven individuals in October and 10 in November.

“Ang ating objective ditto ((Our objective here) is to give justice to those who are oppressed victims. Isa sa mga target natin na ma-accomplish (One of our targets to be accomplished) is ‘yong mga wanted person dito sa Davao City and yong mga tinataguan nila (and where they hide),” she said.

Driz said they had a conference meeting with the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) together with other police stations in arresting these individuals.

“Ito ang tinututukan natin and we are upgrading ang list ng mga warrant na ma-update natin and malagay natin sa Top 10 most wanted especially may mga parameters kasi yan kung bakit siya nailagay sa Top 10 (This is what we are focusing now and we are upgrading the list of the warrant so we can update and include them in the Top 10 most wanted especially we have parameters),” she added.

Some of the cases of the individuals that they arrested were murder, rape, homicide, civil cases, robbery, and graft and corruption, among others.

On the other hand, CIDG noted four apprehensions for their “Oplan Paglalansag Omega”, the CIDG’s campaign against private armies and loose firearms from October to November while three for “Oplan Bolilyo” or operation against illegal gambling.
