THE City Government of Davao is now 75 percent ready for the Pasko Fiesta celebration.

City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) head Generose Tecson said last Monday, November 12, that Christmas lights and decorations for the Winter Wonderland theme have been set up in parks and other priority areas.

“Naakyat na po ang some of the decorations. Yung iba po sa may Almendras Gym, makikita niyo mayroon na pong tarpaulins about Christmas and then sa Matina, nag-umpisa na din maglagay ng mga banners natin,” Tecson said.

However, the much-awaited Christmas decorations at the City Hall are not yet up due to lack of materials.

“Sa City Hall, maglalagay na [decorations] this week kasi hinihintay lang ang ma materials para isahang lagay na,” she said.

The budget for the celebration is P42 million, including the decorations, activities, prizes and allocations for security.

Tecson said Christmas trees in the city will be located at the Rizal Park and People’s Park.

Tecson added that the city is preparing a surprise activity for all Dabawenyos and tourists including the performance of the Philippine Harmonic Orchestra.

The Pasko Fiesta will open on November 23 at the Rizal Park.
