DAVAO City will be giving a total of P4.2-million financial assistance to two provinces, two cities and four municipalities affected by the recent earthquakes.

The provinces of Davao del Sur and Cotabato will be given P1 million each. The cities of Digos and Kidapawan will receive P500,000 each while the municipalities of Matalam, M’lang, Magpet, and Hagonoy will receive P300,000 each.

The Davao City Council approved on Tuesday afternoon, November 5, the resolution to release the financial assistance.

“As of now, it is unanimously approved by the honorable council the request of the CDRRMC (City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council) for the release of financial assistance for those municipalities mentioned,” CDRRMC chief Alfredo Baloran said.

Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang, chair of the committee on finance, ways, and means, said the amount is the 30 percent of the Quick Response Fund out of the city’s Calamity Fund comprising 5 percent of the city’s total budget.

Dayanghirang said the checks will be delivered by CDRRMC chief Alfredo Baloran to the recipients tomorrow, November 6. (RAG)
