Fire razes building in Toril

TWO million pesos worth of properties were destroyed by a fire on Friday evening, September 21, that struck a business establishment on Salutillo St., Sitio Lomboy, Binugao Toril, Davao City.

Senior Police Officer (SFO 2) Ramil Gillado, the deputy chief of the investigation section of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP 11), said Sunday, September 23, that the fire engulfed the one-storey industrial building where City Import Globe, which is engaged in production of bihon (noodles), is operating.

The fire started at around 10:55 p.m. and the alert level was raised to second alarm. Fire out was declared at around 2:24 a.m. on September 22.

The building, owned by Iren Te Dee, was razed.

Based on their initial investigation, the probable cause was an electrical short circuit. No casualty was reported.
