Natural medicine doctor to run for Davao City mayor; to make city Covid-free, legalize Kapa

Ralph Lawrence G. Llemit

DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, who is seeking reelection, has a challenger for the same position in the 2022 elections -- a naturopathic or natural medicine doctor who promises to make the city Covid-19-free once elected.

Hans Elizalde arrived at the Commission on Elections-Davao Wednesday morning, October 6, 2021, to file his certificate of candidacy (COC) for mayorship.

Initially, his filing was not successful as he has yet to complete all the necessary documents. Elizalde went back to comply with the required documents.

He said he will focus on how to make the city free from Covid-19 cases.

"I-zero nako ang Covid sa Davao. Hopefully, kung tagaan ko og chance, musulod ko og Covid ward sa SPMC [Southern Philippines Medical Center], panaganan nako ako produkto," he said in an interview with PTV Davao.

(I will make the Covid-19 cases in the city zero. Hopefully, if given the chance, I want to visit the Covid wards at SPMC, and give them my products.)

He said his product, which he did not specify, was formulated by his doctor in the United States.

He also said he will address the problem of illegal investment schemes in the city.

He added that he will legalize the operation of Kapa Community Ministry International (Kapa).

Elizalde said he had previously run as first district council but failed to secure a slot.
